For the longest time, I didn't even consider giving vim a shot. I had this notion that it was impractical and wouldn't really make much of a difference in my day-to-day work. I mean, let's be real, I thought of it as something mostly "nerds" would be into – definitely not my thing.
I look back now and realize I missed out on this incredible piece of technology for years, all because of my own biases and preconceived notions.
Then one day, I just decided to throw caution to the wind and learn vim, despite my reservations.
I'll be honest, it took me a good three weeks, maybe even more, just to get to the same level of productivity I had with VSCode. But once I got past that initial learning curve, something amazing happened – I found myself working at least 3 to 5 times faster than my old VSCode days.
Hindsight is 20/20, right? Looking back now, I can't help but shake my head at how silly it was to put off learning vim.
It makes me wonder, what else have I been missing out on because I let my own preconceived notions get in the way?
